RHC Learn to Play

Learning to play hockey is more than just learning a game. Beyond skating, passing, and stickhandling, hockey teaches responsibility, respect, and teamwork. As children build the skills needed to succeed on the ice, they solidify essential character traits that serve them throughout life.

The Rockets Hockey Club Learn to Play Program is designed to provide aspiring young athletes with an immersive, high-quality introduction to youth hockey. Led by our expert coaching staff, our curriculum focuses on foundational skill development, fun, and fostering a lifelong passion for the sport.

• Ages: Open to all youth players looking to start their hockey journey.
• Prerequisite: Participants should have completed a basic Learn to Skate program or possess basic skating proficiency before enrolling.
• Experience: Designed for beginner to novice players looking to transition into organized hockey.

4 Skates Per Week: Maximum ice time dedicated to rapid skill progression and confidence building.

• 2 Skill & Practice Sessions: Focused on fundamental skating, edge work, puck control, and passing (Mondays & Fridays).
• 2 Game/Scrimmage Sessions: Structured small-area games and scrimmages to apply new skills in fun, practical play (Saturdays & Sundays).

Full Player Package: RHC-branded gear/jersey package included with registration.

Full Head-to-Toe Equipment: Complete gear provided so your skater has everything required to step on the ice safely.

Expert Development: Structured curriculum created and overseen by professional directors and coaches.

Accelerated Skill Growth: Four ice sessions per week offer double the exposure of traditional introductory programs.
